How each was worshipped

Brahma

Cult sites: Brahma temple at Pushkar, the rare major seat, Smaller Brahma shrines, often paired with a curse-story explaining the scarcity.

Festivals: Kartik Purnima at Pushkar.

Creator with almost no temples. Pushkar is the exception pilgrims name. The four heads, the Vedas, and the curse of Shiva are how later Hinduism explains the empty calendar. Worship is the Gayatri and the idea of creation, not a festival circuit.

Olodumare

Cult sites: No direct temple; every orisha house is downstream of Olodumare.

Festivals: Ifa divination as the supreme being's speech through Orunmila.

Too high for ordinary sacrifice. Ashe comes from here and is handled by orishas. White, the sun, and the refusal to make a statue. Yoruba cult is mediation: you do not drop in on the owner of heaven.

Brahma

Hindu Pantheon

The creator god and first member of the Trimurti. Brahma created the universe and all creatures. Depicted with four heads facing the four directions, representing omniscience.

Brahma emerged from a golden egg (Hiranyagarbha) or from a lotus growing from Vishnu's navel. He created the world and all beings, including the gods and sages.

Brahma is the first god of the Hindu **Trimurti** (trinity), the cosmic creator who brings forth the universe at the beginning of each cycle of existence. He is depicted with four heads facing the cardinal directions, symbolizing his all-seeing nature and the four Vedas that emanated from his mouths.

Olodumare

African Traditions

The supreme creator deity in Yoruba religion, who exists beyond human comprehension. Olodumare created the universe and delegated specific powers to the Orishas, who serve as intermediaries between the supreme being and humanity.

Olodumare has always existed, before time and space, in the eternal heavens of Orun. From this supreme being emerged all creation: first the Orishas, then the primordial waters, then the earth and all living things.

Olodumare is the supreme deity of Yoruba religion, whose name means 'Owner of Eternal Heavens' or 'Almighty.' Unlike the Orishas who actively intervene in human affairs, Olodumare is considered too transcendent for direct worship. Instead, prayers reach the supreme being through the Orishas.
