The Gambia's River Dragon
Mandinka and neighboring traditions along the Gambia speak of a ninki-nanka in the mangroves: a large, dangerous water-reptile whose sighting is unlucky. Cryptozoological expeditions (2006) collected testimony; they did not find a body. Treat this as living folklore, not a recovered temple hymn.
