Weighing of the heart
The Hall of Two Truths (Maat) is where the deceased's heart is weighed against the feather, Anubis adjusting the scale, Thoth recording, Ammit waiting. Book of the Dead Spell 125 is the great negative confession before forty-two judges. Osiris presides. This is the moral bottleneck of the Egyptian afterlife as New Kingdom officials imagined it. There is no separate temple of the Hall; coffins and papyri are the building.
